«Seasons and weather»

Тип уроку: комбінований

Мета:
     ·       Повторити й активізувати лексику з теми;
·  Формувати та розвивати навички діалогічного і монологічного мовлення, читання та аудіювання;
·      Розширювати словниковий запас учнів;
·      Розвивати вміння учнів працювати в парах;
·   Розвивати логічне мислення,уяву,пам’ять учнів,спостережливість;
·      Розвивати фонетичний слух;
·      Розвивати мовну здогадку;
·      Виховувати інтерес та зацікавленість  у вивченні англійської мови.


Обладнання: проектор, екран, мультимедійна презентація, відео, роздатковий матеріал.

Хід уроку

(Slide 1)
I.                   INTRODUCTION
T: Good morning, children. How are you?
Ps: Good morning, teacher. We’re fine, thank you.
T: I’m glad that you’re fine. So, today we’re going to talk about “Seasons and weather”. You’ll remember words and phrases that you’ve learnt before. You’ll work individually and in pairs. Don’t forget if you want to answer raise your hand.
(Slide 2)
II.               WARM UP
T: I would like to ask you some questions about “Seasons and weather”.
(Pupils answer the questions)
 -       How many seasons are there in a year? 
      -       What are they?
      -       What season is it now?
      -       What is your favourite season?
      -       What are spring months?
      -       What are summer months?What are autumn months?
      -       What’s the weather like today?
(Slides 3-6)

T: Now, boys and girls can you guess a season by the picture? Look at the screen and tell me “What season is it?”         

          (It’s winter)            (It’s spring )          (It’s summer )          (It’s autumn)

III.           MAIN PART OF THE LESSON

T: Children, your next task will be to listen to the dialogue “It’s snowing. Do you like snow?”. Then read it with your partner.

(Pupils watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f14VXicnOvs two times. Teacher gives pupils printed dialogue, they read it in pairs. Teacher chooses roles for pupils and they act out the dialogue).


Boy 1: Let’s play outside!
Girl 1: Sorry, I can’t. It’s cold and windy.
Boy 1: Look! It’s snowing.
Girl 2: It’s all white.
Boy 1: Do you like snow?
Girl 1: Yes, I do.
Girl 2: Yes, I do.
Boy 1: Let’s go!
Boy 1: Can you make a snowman?
Girl 1: Sure, I can.
Boy 2: A snowman. You’re good.
Boy 1: Thank you.
Girl 1: What’s that?
Dog: His nose.
Boy 1: Wow, a nose.

T; Pupils, I know that you like stories. So, look at the slide there is a story. You need to complete the story, write words instead of pictures. You can see a list of words below the story. Use these words to complete it. (Teacher gives worksheets and they fill in the gaps with correct words).

T: So, please, who wants to read the story?
(Slide 9)
T: We continue to work in your worksheets. Please, look at the table. I ask you to write sentences about your free time, what you can do in different weather. Before you start writing, let’s read and translate all words from the table. (Pupils read and translate words)
I’m glad that you know all the words from the table. First sentence I’ll write for you on the board as an example, then some pupils will go to the board and write down sentences. Others have to write them into your worksheets.

T: Only one task is left. Look at the slide there is a crossword. I give each of you printed variant of this crossword. Your task is to find 8 hidden words from the topic “Seasons and weather” and circle these words.
